ICEE FROZEN BEVERAGES: Some Urban Air locations have a certification letter from the K-COR [Council of Orthodox Rabbis / Vaad Harabbonim of Greater Detroit] posted on their Icee machine. Consumers should be aware that this certification applies only to cases or containers of Icee syrup that bear the K-COR symbol. There is no certification or supervision at these locations to ensure that Kosher syrup is being used. It is up to the consumer to verify this by opening the cabinet at the bottom of the machine to check the label on the 5 gal. case of syrup for the K-COR or other reliable Kashrus symbol.
JELLY BELLY UPDATE: All Jelly Belly products sold in the U.S., both retail and bulk, are Kosher only when bearing the OU symbol. Product made in Thailand with no OU symbol is not certified.
ESPEEZ ASSORTED ROCK CANDY ON A STICK bears an OU, but recently mistakenly used carmine, a non-Kosher color, in the Pink [Cherry] and Purple [Grape] varieties. Packages that list carmine in the ingredients should not be used. Packages that bear an OU and do not list carmine are Kosher.
