Reminder – RITA’S ITALIAN ICE & FROZEN CUSTARD OF FARMINGTON HILLS at 11 Mile & Middlebelt is no longer  under supervision of the K-COR/Vaad Harabbonim. RITA’S OF LATHRUP VILLAGE on Southfield Rd. bet. 11 & 12  Mile remains under supervision, as Dairy non-Cholov Yisroel. The Italian Ices contain only pareve ingredients and  may be eaten after meat.

Reminder – DOLE SALADS (Garden Salad, Coleslaw, Red Cabbage, etc.) are no longer OK certified and no longer  bear the OK symbol (except for limited special productions distributed by J.R. Produce, which continue to bear  the OK symbol next to the date code). This change also affects store brands that are produced by Dole in some  areas and used to bear the OK, such as Aldi [Little Salad Bar], Walmart [Marketside], and Kroger. Always check  the package for a reliable certification.

ALDI CEREALS: The following Millville cereals at Aldi, that in the past had an OU, no longer do in certain areas  (e.g. Lakewood, Baltimore and others), due to a change in suppliers. In some areas, including Detroit, they still  bear the OU currently, but this can change at any time. Other Millville cereals may also change suppliers in the  future. Always check each individual package for a reliable certification:

MILLVILLE BRAN FLAKES

MILLVILLE KOOKIES CEREAL

MILLVILLE CHOCOLATE PUFFS CEREAL

MILLVILLE HONEY CRUNCH ‘N OATS

THE FOLLOWING NEW SLURPEE SYRUPS are Kosher and pareve (no symbol required). The label on the syrup box  in the back of the 7-Eleven store should be checked to verify the brand and flavor, unless that location has store  level Kashrus certification of its Slurpee machine (as at the two Oak Park 7-11’s):

POWERADE BLOOD ORANGE KICK FCB Limited Edition

FRUITWORKS TROPICAL TWIST FCB

BUBLY SPARKLING WATER’s new MOJITO BREEZE and TIKI SUNRISE limited-edition flavors are Kosher-pareve  (no symbol required).

REESE’S PIECES PEANUT BUTTER CANDY has been reformulated from dairy to pareve. The new pareve product  still bears the OU-D symbol for now, but is absolutely pareve and pareve equipment, and no longer lists milk in  the ingredient panel or allergen statement. Consumers can identify the reformulated version by checking for the  absence of milk in those sections of the label. Older dairy-formula packages may still be on store shelves,  however, so each package must be checked. Future packaging will be revised from OU-D to plain OU.

SYSCO IMPERIAL POTATO TATER BARRELS was incorrectly included in a Kashrus list of product recalls. This is not  a Kosher product.

THE FOLLOWING PRODUCTS BEAR UNAUTHORIZED KASHRUS MARKING on some labels:

ROYALE CHOCOLATIER ANGEL HAIR CHOCOLATE – unauthorized Star-K symbol.

CADIA REFRIED BEANS (Vegetarian Refried Black Beans, Vegetarian Refried Pinto Beans, and Fat-Free Vegetarian Refried Pinto  Beans) – unauthorized cRc symbol on label and website. Only Cadia regular beans (as opposed to Refried Beans) bearing the  cRc symbol are certified.

BARISSIMO COLLAGEN COFFEE [Aldi] – unauthorized OU symbol.
